ICARE is NOT a certified medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical treatment.       Privacy Commitment: We respect your privacy. All senior personal profile details, contacts, and custom medication schedules are stored locally on your device storage (localStorage). We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize your personal data.
    

1. Information Handled by the App

To provide personalized care assistance, voice AI interaction, and emergency dialing, the app handles the following data:

Senior Profile Information: Senior Name, Preferred City/Location, Emergency Contact Phone Numbers, and Medication Schedules. This data is stored locally on the user's device.
Voice Input & Microphone Data: Audio captured during voice interactions or pharmacy translation is converted to text in real time using the device's native Speech Recognition API. Raw voice audio is not recorded or permanently stored on external servers.
Anti-Fraud Query Input: Text or phrases checked via the Scam Shield are processed in real time to assess potential phishing and fraud risks.

2. Third-Party AI Processing

For open-ended companion chat and pharmacy translation, non-identifiable text queries are transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS to enterprise AI cloud infrastructure (Google Gemini API / OpenAI API hosted on global US/EU compliant data centers). These enterprise providers process prompts strictly in real time to generate conversational responses and do not train models on senior personal records or retain personal health histories.

3. SOS Emergency Calling Functionality

When the senior presses the SOS Emergency Button, the application triggers the device's native telephone dialer (using the standard tel: protocol) to initiate a direct phone call to the designated emergency contact or 911. The app does not operate a centralized dispatch monitoring service.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Users and caregivers maintain full control over all stored data. You may edit or delete senior profile records, medication lists, or activity logs at any time directly within the Family Caregiver Portal or by clearing application data in your browser/device settings.
